Scottish MSP’s are planning to discuss the possibility of creating a .sco domain extension for exclusive use by Scottish business. The idea is the brain child of Alex Salmond who has decided to make a request to ICANN as he has seen the successful applications by Guernsey, Jersey and the Isle of Man.
The launch of a .Sco domain will most probraly mean even more confusion for UK consumers and also may lead to the call for .eng, .wal, irl etc. The only real use for these .sco domain owners will be government organisations as I can not see small business owners wanting to isolate themselves from the rest of the UK.
