Everyone seems to be going crazy over this big news about Microsoft offering to buy Yahoo which to some of us is old news. Its a well known fact that Microsoft have been chasing Yahoo for the last 18 months and waited till financial report time to make a swoop.
Since the news was made public last week it now seems that News Corp intend to make a counter bid for Yahoo and flip Myspace as part of the deal. This would be bad news for Yahoo as NC just could not take on the might of Google or encourage the right people to develop the platform.
Talking of News Corp, I was watching Sky News who had experts on talking about the possible Yacrosoft deal. The reporter suggested that Microsoft’s main reason for buying Yahoo is the fact they need a search engine (eh live? ) and as they have lots of Yahoo mail users. I think its about time Sky News call me 
It has also emerged today that Google have contacted Yahoo about renting Goggles Advertising and Search technology which will give users a choice when it comes to portal or basic search. Analysts already predict that a Google driven Yahoo would see a 25% increase in revenue in year one.
