Well since I have already had a moan about Apple this week I thought I would turn my attention to CityLink couriers who managed to cause me a major amount of problems over the last few days by providing me with duff information.
It all started when i ordered an Xmas gift last week from store in London who sent it Citylink next day. I called them in the morning to confirm dispatch and was assured the item was on the way to my house ready for early delivery. By early evening I was informed nothing had arrived and called the supplier who told me he could not get in contact with Citylink and would try again in the morning.
The next morning I decided to call citylink myself and was told that the company had an IT failure but the item would be delivered on Friday by 8pm. Again someone waited in and again nothing happened apart from a note telling me they had tried to deliver but nobody was home. On checking my CCTV which monitors activity and records images of visitors it confirmed nobody form citylink or any other courier had been to the door.
I called on Saturday to be told the parcil might be out on the deliver service but if not to call at 8am on Monday where they could tell me more. Due to the item being a gift I offered to collect it but as it was in a cage I was not allowed.
The good news the item did arrive today at 8.30 am but the driver informed us the item had never been in the depot on Friday and whoever told us that must have been telling lies. To be honest I’m not sure if the CEO himself called I would believe what they told me as there customer service is pathetic.
My main issue with this is not the delivery time but the lies and rubbish the told me on the phone every time i called (and those calls took about 20 Min’s on hold) . I Like a lot of people I could have been paying someone to wait in and that could have cost a couple of hundreds pounds if I had not had someone at home.
It seems Citylink are not alone with poor service and the BBC is reporting a huge number of complaints about courier companies. I really hope that they get the delivery stuff together or next year online shopping will see a massive drop in popularity.
