I remember when Beanie Babies were the hardest to get things on the planet but now it seems the Telsa Electric Car has taken the lead as what I would like for Christmas but can’t get
If you have never seen a Tesla then you might wonder who anyone would want one but if I told you it was built by Lotus, 0 - 60 in 3.9 seconds and costs almost nothing to run then Im sure you would be with me at the front of the line!
So the deal is you can pay a deposit of $5000 and get on a waiting list which will not guarantee you a car before 2009. The other issue is you are not allowed to buy the car if you
live outside the US which might be a problem if I never had a good US contact book
So I need to order a car from the US which will be built down the road, shipped to the US then resent back to me (talk about being Eco friendly) . I also have been told it will require some specialized transformers to hook it up to UK power feeds.
I was telling a friend about the car who was asking what I would do If I ran out of power whilst out and about so after 30 seconds of detailed planning, engineering and development I would like to introduce the first aftermarket accessory for a Tesla.

The Tesla Roadster isn’t built by Lotus. Tesla contracted with Lotus to design the body/chasis and do wind tunnel testing. The car itself is built by Tesla Motors, which is an independantly-owned company in California.

Hi Cody,
I also thought the car was built in the US but if you look at the FAQ area (http://www.teslamotors.com/learn_more/faqs.php) or the owners blog it says they are built in the UK.
I guess they must just prep the cars for end users in California
